Shop shocker
Yellow caddies, free food & liquor and a 60-year old DJ.
Has anyone noticed there haven’t been any alien sightings this summer? Forget UFO’s! The most talked about unexplained sightings of 2006 had nothing to do with the distant summer skies. They didn’t involve little green men. This season’s mystery colour was yellow. In major cites across the country, superette personnel in yellow outfits were seen pushing around yellow shopping carts. Equipped with only a labelling device, they were the bearers of one single message: gigasuperette.be. During the gay parade, a giant yellow shopping cart wheeled party people to ecstasy. Shops everywhere started decorating their windows with yellow shopping carts, inviting puzzled onlookers to visit the site www.gigasuperette.be, where they could vote on who hade made the best shop window (the winners were flown to Ibiza for an exclusive party on a fully converted oil tanker*) or join a competition themselves to win a shopping cart full of goodies or tickets to a secret event. What was it all about? Only a few weeks prior to the actual event, the proverbial veil was lifted and the Gigasuperette party was announced. Under the denominator “Nightology - Reinvent the night”, the whisky brand J&B® organised a real supermarket party with Demonstrate. In ’s Gravenbrakel (Braine-le-Comte), a recently vacated supermarket turned into a gigasuperette where five hundred lucky ticket holders could party to their hearts’ content to the tunes of DJ’s like Jackie Dewaele (Zaki, 2Many DJs call him daddy), The Glimmers, TLP and local favourites Nicole and Hugo until the wee hours of morning. Cocktails were conjured up by Kasper Kurdahl and The Fabulous Shaker Boys. Hope you didn’t miss it. Check out the recipes of these exclusive cocktails here. Enjoy!
