A YELLOW CARPET FOR VEUVE CLICQUOT

In the world of luxury treats, there’s exclusive and there’s eXXXXXclusive. Veuve Clicquot Starlight Yellow definitely fits the latter category: three limited edition bottles were created with vignettes made out of ostrich, crocodile and shark skin. To launch the release of these new luxurious designs, D8 put together an unforgettable invitation-only event in collaboration with the world-renowned artist Jan Fabre.

Demonstrate had exclusive access to his artistic laboratory to host a once-in-a-lifetime night celebrating creativity in all its forms. Jan Fabre himself gave everyone a grand tour of the premises and the catering was a molecular feast cooked up by none other than the Boxxy’s brothers. Top fashion photographer Marc Lagrange made a breath taking set starring Veuve Clicquot and some top models and gave all guests an exclusive view ‘behind-the-scenes’ of a live fashion shoot.

To liven up the reveal of the three limited edition bottles, D8 flew in Swiss artist Bouroulec who made an on-the-spot upside down painting of a hybrid shark/crocodile/ostrich-like creature. (You had to be there, really…). Guests could wander around in a Yellow ‘Smoke Garden’ and enjoy the splendid performance by ODO 7, the famous ‘aroma jockey’. When the night was over, everyone had been having so much fun they decided to stay in touch. In fact, Jan Fabre and Demonstrate are now setting up new collaborations with Veuve Clicquot …..

Too bad you missed it… But don’t fret. Veuve Clicquot and D8 could be coming to your town soon! To generate more brand awareness in the high-end clubs, Veuve Clicquot ordered another night to remember. D8 knew just what to serve. We designed and developed a luxury champagne ordering routine that created an extra buzz around the bubbly treat. A special tabletop servant bell was designed, hinting at a girlish figure as a reference to the ‘Veuve’ (widow) from Veuve Clicquot. Anyone who wanted to order champagne could ring our bell and expect prompt VIP service. In a semi-separated section of the club, furnished by D8, people were able to be ‘accessorised’ and strike a pose for a portrait by the professional fashion photographers Verne Photography. Guests were welcomed in the Boudoir Clicquot and got the opportunity to be styled to perfection by an on-site fashion stylist. Forget the red carpet, we rolled out the yellow carpet: no bad paparazzi shots allowed. After a fabulous fashion shoot, you ordered from the Menu Hand Mirror (that’s exactly what it sounds like) and stretched out for some hardcore lounging on an antique (yellow) sofa, nibbling from strawberries dipped in yellow chocolate. (Another job well done by the D8 product development team.)

Veuve Clicquot and the participating clubs (Versuz Hasselt, Mirador Antwerp, Zuri Knokke, Motel Antwerp) liked our ideas so much, the “yellow carpet-Boudoir Clicquot” treatment is still on a nationwide tour of Belgian nightlife.
